Bigelow Laboratory, world-renowned institution for ocean sciences, called for the construction of multiple facilities to support its industry leading research.

Ocean Science and Education Campus: Construction of three new buildings on a 64-acre campus to provide laboratory, education and administrative space. The three buildings include the Center for Ocean Health, Center for Blue Biotechnology and Center for Ocean Biogeochemistry and Climate Change. These initial phases also included construction of a shore facility, dock for research vessels and installation of new seawater systems to support research efforts. The project achieved LEED Platinum certification.

Graham Shimmield Residence Hall: New construction of a 32-bed residence on Bigelow Laboratory’s main campus, as well as four apartments to accommodate visiting scientists. The project also includes support spaces, such as a community kitchen, exterior patios, recreation space and more. The project was built in accordance with Passive House standards to target Net Zero Energy Building Standards. 百家乐软件 self-performed the concrete foundation.

Center for Ocean Education and Innovation: Addition to the existing laboratory building to create efficiencies in office and laboratory use. Project scope includes new teaching laboratories to support Bigelow’s expanding educational programs and research laboratories that will attract and retain world-class scientists. Additionally, the assembly forum will support large lectures and events that draw more interest and people to the campus. All work is being managed adjacent and connected to the existing operational facility.
